The founding of bar GmbH with the range of goods: "Industrial pneumatics, solenoid valves and pneumatic actuators". via Dipl. Eng. Manfred Heise.
1981
Development of the double piston pivoting actuator with self-centering pistons operating according to the rack and pinion principle. This principle has, in the meantime, been taken on by most competitors.
bar was the first to offer the "Pneumatic Ball-valve" onto the world market: A compact functional unit, consisting of valve and actuator.

Series production with adjustment of the pivoting angle of the double piston pivoting actuator possible.
1990
bar GmbH moves into new production and administration buildings in the industrial estate in Dattenberg.
Market introduction of "bar-Variofix" a patented assembly system, whereby almost every electrical limit switch can be mounted in the shortest of time.

Patenting of the bar Safety Spring for pneumatic actuators.

Development of a wide-ranging accessory program for standardized actuator interfaces.

Fitting of the actuators with octagonal pinions according to DIN 3337. Development of the "Multi-bar", with which the actuation torque can be doubled.

Certification of the environment management system according toEU ECO audit directive. Development and marketing of 3 and 2 part stainless steel ball valves, conceived for the maintenance-free direct mounting onto pneumatic and electric actuators.

Development and marketing of the bar signal unit, a new opto-electric end-position check-back system for pneumatic actuators.

Development of the innovative plastic actuator "bar-actusign".

Additions to the pneumatic actuator program resulting in now 16 different sizes.
